POTATO SKIN CHIPS

POTATO SKIN CHIPS

Don’t throw potato skins in the bin or compost them. Instead cook them! They’re delicious! Staying with my parents at the moment, the potatoes often get peeled so to use the whole food as I prefer, it just makes sense to cook them. Mix them […]

DIY TOOTHPASTE

After our big move and some travels, I didnā€™t get around to making some more toothpaste when I ran out. We havenā€™t used store bought toothpaste for a long time and our son thought the store bought toothpaste was too spicy as he said.

It feels good to “be back” using our homemade toothpaste and it shouldnā€™t be hard to keep it up now that weā€™re back in the daily routine šŸ™‚

INGREDIENTS
6 tbsp Bentonite clay
4 tbsp Diatomaceous earth (optional, can use bentonite clay instead)
4 tsp Baking soda (naturally extracted)
3 tsp Sea salt (unrefined)
5 tsp Xylitol, Sukrin or Stevia powder (or to taste)
5 tbsp Coconut oil (or until desired texture)
10-15 drops Essential oil (like peppermint, spearmint, myrrh, clove bud)

DIRECTIONS
In a small bowl, combine and mix bentonite clay, diatomaceous earth (if using), baking soda , sea salt, and xylitol, sukrin or stevia powder.
Slowly add coconut oil, blending until it reaches the consistency you desire, It will firm up a bit after it sets.
Add essential oils and stir until mixed well.
Store in a clean container with an airtight lid.

MY BEST CHIA PUDDING

MY BEST CHIA PUDDING

Breakfast is my least favourite meal because I find it hard to find breakfasts that I truly love and enjoy. Often I find breakfasts sickening sweet and Iā€™ve also noticed that my son eat much less of his breakfast if itā€™s too sweet.

Iā€™ve tried many many chia pudding recipes because they look so delicious but I end up making them only once because theyā€™re often too sweet and they leave me not feeling full even though they contain fresh whole-foods and good fats from coconuts, nuts or avocado. This chia pudding I made this morning is the best Iā€™ve had so far and Iā€™ll share the recipe (approximates) below.

I prefer savoury breakfasts like eggs, beacon or sausages with greens and avocado but after a few days it just feels like too much meat. My favourite breakfast would probably be a plate with a little of ā€œeverythingā€ but who has time for that in the morning šŸ™‚ I always have a green smoothie so I get my greens as I like to have green leafy vegetables at every meal as they are vital to good health.

Chia pudding for 2-3 people

INGREDIENTS
1/2 Banana
1 Avocado
2 handfuls Macadamia nut or other nuts
1 tsp Vanilla powder
1-2 cups Coconut milk
pinch of Sea salt
1/2 cup Chia seeds

DIRECTIONS
The ingredients above are approximates and add more liquid or nuts for better taste or consistency depending on how you like it.

Mix all ingredients except chia seeds in a blender, food processor or Thermomix until smooth. It shouldnā€™t be too runny.

Poor and scrape out the mix into a bowl and mix in the chia seeds and leave to stand for 10 minutes or longer so the chia seeds and absorb the liquid.

Serve the chia pudding with fresh or frozen berries and chopped nuts.

OPTIONAL
Add coconut oil or ghee to taste for a more filling version.

HOW I STARTED TO ROLL WITH MY LIFE CIRCUMSTANCES

HOW I STARTED TO ROLL WITH MY LIFE CIRCUMSTANCES

In my previous post I shared what saved me postpartum and you can read it HERE if you missed it. When I enrolled in Belinda Davidsonā€™s School of the Modern Mystic (SoMM) level 1 course two years ago, it was out of desperation. I was struggling because I couldnā€™t keep living the way I used to and it wasnā€™t because I was following a particular competitive or busy career path before the birth of our son nor had my life or childhood been particularly traumatic.

While I started feeling better within a month time of starting Belindaā€™s course, I also discovered how my attitude towards my life changed. I’ve always seen myself as a positive and energetic person, however, I realised that something more shadowy was hiding behind this positive attitude. For example obstacles or sudden changes could sometimes drain my energy or I couldā€™t let go and move. I would often experience this feeling of something or someone working against me from time to time, even though I didnā€™t make long term plans for my life and impulses have taken me many places.

It would make me angry, frustrated, fill me with despair or make me feel sorry for myself but suddenly a couple of months into Belindaā€™s course, my life started to effortlessly flow more and more. The best way I can explain it is that I started experiencing an inner trust and acceptance of what comes my way. Now I experience much more that I roll with my life circumstances and the bumps on my path. If something doesnā€™t feel right one day I trust that it will the next day or next week. I still get lots of things done but itā€™s done with more ease and joy.

You can SIGN UP for the FREE Modern Mystic Training Video Series where you can get to know Belinda and what her course offers. Iā€™m SO PASSIONATE about her teachings because it was the catalyst that transformed my life and Iā€™ve seen so many other SoMM students blossom. I wish that opportunity for everyone on the planet.

Belindaā€™s teachings also challenges my world view and I really enjoy it. I therefore urge you to WATCH ALL FOUR VIDEOS and if you find it too woo-woo, I want you to know that this is very new to me too but the course gave me so much. Her steps and guidelines are very practical and besides having incredible psychic gifts, Belinda isnā€™t very woo-woo.

SoMM opens its doors for enrolment once a year, and that window of opportunity for 2016 starts today until 5 October and the price is lower if you pay before 20 September. The course begins on 10 October.
