MEDITATION & SLEEP Last week I talked about toxic free home and personal care and how it was the second lifestyle-change that my family and I made to achieve more vitality and energy. I also listed ingredients to use more of and ingredients and products to use less of (and even better […]
In my previous post I shared what saved me postpartum and you can read it HERE if you missed it. When I enrolled in Belinda Davidson’s School of the Modern Mystic (SoMM) level 1 course two years ago, it was out of desperation. I was […]
Meditation doesn’t have to be sitting in lotus position in beautiful surroundings 😃 as on this flight between Copenhagen and Venice. We’re having our first holiday without our son as we’re going to La Biennale in Venice. My partner edited the feature film Hounds of Love, which has its premiere here at the film festival.
I’m not the type where meditation comes easy. I’m the always-on-the-go type of person, which is probably why I really needed meditation to thrive.
I wasn’t good to begin with and still after meditating every day for over two years, there’re days where I find it hard to meditate. I started with guided meditations through an app I downloaded on to my phone and now I meditate self-guided focussing on my inner body. My inner body is the name Belinda Davidson and Eckhart Tolle use for the inner energy field of your body. You can also call it chi, life force energy etc. Because I’m mostly on the go, I would never “check in” with my body. I was always “in my head”, avoiding feeling the emotional feedback in my body.
Postpartum, I was forced to change my way of living and thinking. There was no way I could keep it up also caring for a baby and being sleep deprived. It took me time to realise what was going on and what I was trying to tell myself but one thing was sure I was struggling and not feeling great at all. The first thing that was clear to me was that it wouldn’t be helpful to talk about my problem like in therapy. I had to connect with my body but the only words that came to me then was that I had to connect with my feminine energy.
I tried different kinds of healing/ breath work but it didn’t feel quite right. I didn’t realise it at the time but it was too much “digging” in the past and understanding past hurts. When I stumbled over Belinda Davidson’s School of the Modern Mystic and joined her Level 1, I learned that you don’t need to look back. You can start here and now by working on your energy and WOW did that change everything!
If you want to change your life, you must first change your energy. For only by working with your energy – your energy-field and chakras – is it possible to permanently and positively change your life! (Belinda Davidson).
Belinda’s course involves building a strong meditation and mindfulness practise and it really helped me to turn my life around. I feel so much more alive and aware today. I don’t avoid difficult emotions but instead I bring them into the light, into my awareness and they miraculously dissolve. Of course things keep coming up, that’s just life right 😉 but it’s less frequent and because I know how to deal with it, life feels much easier than what it used to be, also than before I became a mum.
Belinda’s course starts on 10 October but if you want to get started here and sign up to receive several free informative videos and you can get to know Belinda, who’s quite something 🙂
If this post was valuable to you, I would be so grateful if you would share it with your friends and family.
